The New Lourdes.edu - Coming Soon!
 The New Lourdes.edu
The Lourdes College website is getting a facelift! We’re excited about all of the interactive features our website will offer. The College will celebrate the official launch of the new website on December 1, 2008.
What changes can we expect?
- To help make information easier to find, information on the new site will be categorized into related sections instead of lengthy menus.
- The new homepage design features a more dynamic look and feel, and will allow us to highlight more information about upcoming events.
- Most of our web pages will still be located in the same area, with the addition of a few new ones.
- A sitemap will be available to assist users who have trouble locating a specific page.

LourdesWorld is officially one year old today! Read about us in the Toledo Free Press.
Did you know:
- Lourdes College has a Facebook page. Sign into your account and click "Become a fan" to join!
- You can also join us on MySpace. Thanks for the add (in advance)!
- You (and your student organization) can submit photos and videos to be featured on the LourdesWorld homepage.

How to subscribe to a blog using RSS
* Learn more about RSS feeds, and watch a video tutorial
What do I need to use RSS?
In order to receive RSS feeds, you need an RSS reader (The new Internet Explorer 7 has an RSS reader built-in, but there are also other options, such as NewsFox for the Firefox browser). Subscribe to the blog or website from which you want to receive content, and the information will be delivered automatically to your RSS reader.
To subscribe to a LourdesWorld blog using Internet Explorer 7:
- Make sure you're using Internet Explorer 7. If not, you can download it here.
- Go to the LourdesWorld Blog Center.
- Look at the menu on the left (under Categories). Next to each category and each individual blog is a blue icon. These icons indicate that you can subscribe to an RSS feed.
- Click on the icon next to the category or blog for which you'd like to subscribe. You should see a screen that looks like this:
- Click the link at the bottom of the yellow box that reads "Subscribe to this feed." A dialog box will appear. If you're new to RSS feeds, just click "Subscribe." Or you can customize your feed title and location.
- To check your RSS feed, open your Favorites.
- At the top of the Favorites panel, there should be a "Feeds" tab. Select it to view the most recent headlines for each feed.

Show off your artistic talents
Join the fun -- get your photos and videos on LourdesWorld ! If you have pictures of the campus or Lourdes College events on your cell phone or digital camera, email them to webmaster@lourdes.edu and show them to the LourdesWorld community. Or take some new pictures the next time you attend a campus event. This process is open to all students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
Please include your name so we can give you credit for your work.
You'll also want to be sure you have permission from any other individuals who

Hot Topics
Hello bloggers and visitors!
I'd like to introduce a new feature on LourdesWorld . There's a new space on the blog entry page
that includes a list of topics suggested by current events on campus
and around the world. If you're having trouble coming up with ideas
for your posts, this is a great place to start. I'll update this
regularly and of course welcome suggestions from students, faculty,
staff and alumni! Topic suggestions may also be incorporated into the
LourdesWorld poll.
You don't have to be a blogger to participate -- so please, post your ideas here or email webmaster@lourdes.edu.
Here are a few ideas to get started:
- What are your thoughts and feelings about recent shootings on college campuses?
- Which Presidential candidate will you vote for and why?

New "one-stop shop" for Admissions
Greetings from College Relations! Hope everyone is enjoying the start of the semester.
You may have noticed that the online presence for the Office of Admissions has a new look (if you haven't noticed, be sure to check it out). The new Admissions "storefront" provides potential students with the tools and resources they need to get started -- all in one convenient location: admissions.lourdes.edu
